Landscape
For over twenty years, my camera has been a tool that I return to for making images as I explore the landscapes around me — the light, the textures, the weather.
My landscape photographs are mainly captured in California. In my college days I studied botany, ecology, and photography. While studying for my Plant Science degree I had access to a darkroom and amazing art and art history classes. Now I have a digital camera and return to many of the locations I visited earlier in my life with fresh ideas and new technical knowledge about my cameras.
I’m capturing moving water, fog and clouds and the ever-shifting rhythms of nature. Once I slow down, take a deep breath and absorb my surroundings I start to feel nature’s offerings – the sound of water moving, shifting colors, and patterns made by the native plant life.
